Whether you are embarking on a new chapter in your healthcare career by joining an Agency full-time or want to boost your income by working additional shifts, we believe the registration process to join a healthcare recruitment agency should be seamless and efficient.

As a healthcare recruitment agency established by Nurses, we understand the value of your time and designed our registration process with you in mind. We’ve invested in our systems to ensure registration is as straightforward as possible, and in our 2023 Staff Satisfaction Survey, 97% of our agency workers agreed our recruitment and registration process is ‘excellent’.

This article provides a breakdown of the registration process to join Leadcare Recruitment, so you know what to expect at each stage:

1. Online Application

Our commitment to efficiency begins with a user-friendly online application form. Accessible on our website, this form captures all the essential information we need to initiate your registration. If you have a Google Account, you can save your progress in the online form and come back to it later. Alternatively, if you prefer a more traditional approach, we also offer a downloadable PDF application form that can be returned to us via email or post.

2. Follow-Up Phone Call

When we receive your completed application form, one of our friendly team will contact you to find out more about you, your skills and experience, and in which geographical areas and areas of practice you would like to work. We will also go through the evidence requirements needed to register, such as a Right to Work in the UK check, evidence of your NMC/GMC registration (as applicable), and evidence of your vaccination history.

3. Mandatory Training

Recognising the importance of paperless and streamlined processes, we’ve invested in an app that enables you to notify us of your availability, accept and book shifts, complete timesheets digitally, and upload your evidence of Mandatory Training. Before being eligible to book any shifts, you must provide evidence of Mandatory Training via the app. If you do not have evidence of Mandatory Training, you will be able to complete and/or update any training required, for free, through our online learning platform.

4. Face-To-Face Interview

Connecting beyond the paperwork, all our agency workers undergo a thorough face-to-face interview, which can be conducted remotely via video call. During the interview, we delve deeper into your qualifications, skills, experience, and career aspirations to ensure we match you with suitable shifts and placements. We will also cover any gaps in your employment history. Our interviews are not about ticking boxes; it’s an opportunity for us to get to know you better as an individual and for you to find out more about Leadcare Recruitment.

5. Compliance Checks

In our application form, we ask for the contact details for at least two references. One must be from your current or most recent employer at managerial level (Band 6/7). Note, references from Band 5 are no longer accepted. We will contact these individuals for a reference following a successful interview and before formally offering you a contract.

To uphold the highest standards of safety and compliance, we conduct an Enhanced Access NI Check as part of the registration process. This essential step ensures our community is comprised of individuals who adhere to regulatory requirements and helps ensure we provide a secure environment for both our agency workers and the patients they care for.

7. Joining The Agency

When the previous steps are complete and we have received two suitable references, you will be provided with the relevant documentation, an ID badge, and uniform (where relevant). You will also be provided with online Induction Training and full access to the Leadcare App, which you can use to keep your availability up to date, book/accept assignments and shifts, and submit digital timesheets.

Speaking about Leadcare Recruitment’s registration process, Karen Kane, Registered Nurse Manager, said:

“We also recognise how important it is for the registration process to not only be fully compliant but also as fast as possible, enabling us to onboard healthcare workers efficiently to provide urgent support to our HSC Trusts and private clients.”
