What is Encompass?

Encompass is a system designed to modernise health and social care in Northern Ireland through a unified digital platform. It provides patients and staff with secure, real-time access to vital information, improving decision-making and care outcomes.

The programme has already been implemented in:

  • Southern Eastern Health & Social Care Trust (SEHSCT) – November 2023
  • Belfast Health & Social Care Trust (BHSCT) – June 2024
  • Northern Health & Social Care Trust (NHSCT) – November 2024
  • Western Health & Social Care Trust (WHSCT) – May 2025
  • Southern Health & Social Care Trust (SHSCT) – May 2025

Please Note: Registration for WHSCT and SHSCT is now live, and the initial questionnaire must be completed before 31st December 2024.

By the end of 2025, Encompass will be fully rolled out across all Health and Social Care Trusts in Northern Ireland, creating better experiences for patients, service users, and staff alike.


Why is Encompass Training Important?

Encompass training is crucial for healthcare professionals to:

Steps to Get Registered

  1. Complete the Questionnaire: Fill out the questionnaire link relevant to the trust you wish to work
  2. Complete Assigned eLearning: Once you receive your login details, book your practical training and then complete the eLearning modules assigned to you
  3. Attend Practical Training: Attend training specific to the Area and department you wish to work in.
    • Note: If you plan to work in multiple areas (e.g., Accident & Emergency Medical and surgical), you must attend separate training sessions for each. If you have been subscribed the wrong training, please get in contact with Leadcare Recruitment
  4. Submit Your Certificate: Send your completed Encompass certificate to compliance@leadcarerecruitment.com to finalise your registration with the relevant HSCNI trust.

Q: How do I start the process to request a login?
A: Complete the questionnaire sent to you by the agency link above before the deadline on 31st December 2024

Q: What happens if I don’t complete the questionnaire

A: The Trust will not be able able to provide you a login to receive your encompass training

  1. What happens if I don’t complete Encompass training?
    A: Failure to complete training will result in ineligibility to work within all trusts.

Q: Can I train for multiple departments at once?
A: No, you must attend separate practical training sessions for each department you wish to work in for example medical, surgical, A&E

Q: If I already have Encompass training through a different trust, do I need to attend practical training again for another trust?
A: No, Encompass training is a regional approach. However, you will still need a separate login for each trust that you work

Q: Does the agency cover the cost of practical training?
A: No, the cost of training is not covered by the agency. It is in your best interest to complete the training to remain compliant.

Q: How do I submit my certificate?
A: Send your certificate to compliance@leadcarerecruitment.com once you’ve completed all training requirements.
